How do bees carry pollen to flowers? We learned about how the pollen is actually collected by the hairs on the bees' legs.
Do you want your student to fall in love with science? This class is designed to nurture the joy that comes with scientific exploration. Miss Frizzle is my hero and in this class I try to emulate her teaching principles. We will "take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"
IN CLASS: We will explore our weekly topic with experiments and simple notes/discussions.
Example Schedule: 10:00-10:05 Greetings/Turn in Work/Science Song 10:05-10:15 Write class notes by labeling a picture 10:15-10:45 Do at least 1 science experiment 10:45-10:55 Review game
AT HOME: Homework will be limited to watching the corresponding video and answering a one page review. Nonwriters may tell their answers to a parent/sibling and have their responses scribed. The homework will get students in the habit of preparing for a class, but should be very easy to complete.
Below is an example of the homework sheet:
Required Videos: We will watch Magic School Bus Rides Again (available on Netflix or for purchase on Amazon Prime) and the videos that were omitted in Magic School Bus Part 1 (these may be found on youtube)
